You do if you have ever heard the song "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel."

They formed 7 traditional refrains to prepare us in hope and expectation for Christmas.  They were often used in the last 7 days before Christmas in churches or on the 7 Sundays before if the traditional 7 Sundays of Advent were held.
