Kids Church are planting!!Sunday, October 6th 2024 Thanks to a generous donation of seeds, pots and soil from Mrs Greig, kid's church will be planting this Sunday!! We will be planting poppy seeds in the hope of having some plants to display for Remembrance Day. We're hoping our green fingers will produce some good ones. |

ICPM, the organisation that we help with our Bissell Lunch Preparation in the summer, has a new community initiative that we, at St A's, are looking to support. Just in time for Thanksgiving. If you have any of the items listed on the poster, that you are able to donate, please bring them to the church; a box will be set up in the narthax for collection of items that will then be delivered to one of the collection centres. |

Blessing of the AnimalsWith Grace United - Sunday, October 6, 2024 Blessing of the Animals with St. Augustine’s Anglican Church & Grace United Church: *Sunday, October 6, 2 pm at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church lawn. (Rain out date Monday, October 7, 4 pm.) Join us to mark the feast day of St. Francis to honor his care of creation and his understanding of God's work through all living things. We gather across the street at Grace United Church (Rain out we will meet Monday at 4pm). We share in a simple service reflecting on God's gift of life in the animals most close to us with a simple act of blessing and thanksgiving for their life. Please bring any furry, scaley, or feathered friend that you give thanks for in your life to pray with and for them! Please ensure your animal companion is on a leash or in a cage/crate/container/etc. Alternatively, please feel free to bring a photo! If you are remembering a beloved animal who has passed, you may also wish to bring a photo, as we will have a moment of silence to remember them too. Messy Church at Grace UnitedFriday October 4th and Friday November 22nd 2024 Grace United will be continuing to host "Messy Church" and hope parishioners from St A's are able to attend. The two Friday sessions take place from 5-7pm - a very fun family event!! |

There will be refreshments available for purchase. Admission is $2. |
Holyrood Community League EventSt A's Parishioners are Invited We are organizing an Indigenous Allyship workshop with Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society on Saturday, October 19 from 1-4pm at our Community League Hall.

Season of Creation is an annual month-long season when Christian communities pray and act to protect creation. We celebrate our faith in God Creator and act in unity to care for our common home. Film Showings - Music recorded at St. Augustine'snanekawâsis nanekawâsisCanada 2024, 80 min, Dir: Conor McNally Blending both archival and contemporary footage, the film is a portrait of George Littlechild, a Cree artist from Canada who was separated from his family in childhood as part of the Sixties Scoop before reconnecting with his heritage as an adult, with Cree culture becoming both the basis of his career as a visual artist and the lens through which he came to terms with his identity as a two-spirit man. Wednesday Night Sharing CircleOn tap: "Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time" by Marcus Borg Sharing in circle has a long history of transformation and community strength in both indigenous and addictions recovery traditions. Sharing in circle allows us both opportunity to listen, and when our turn arrives, to speak. A topic is raised each Wednesday in the realms of Faith, Justice, Spirituality, and Action in the Christian tradition that we are invited to reflect on and share if we wish. Rev. Jonathan usually facilitates the circle. Please contact him for the zoom access: rector@staugustinesedmonton.com We have used books, video, or individual presentations as our 'prompts' for the evening. "Doors" open at 7:45pm, process begins at 8pm-9pm. The zoom stays on until 9:30pm latest for those who want to chat more.
